- Have an air drum or air guitar battle. Make up your own music or perform to a song that you love.
- Make a homemade drum kit out of materials from around your house and jam to your favorite rock song. Be sure to take a big drum solo!
- Make up a rap about your favorite foods. Create a list of them and try speaking them over a steady beat.
- Fill up some glasses with different amounts of water and tap them to create a homemade xylophone
- Find a song that makes you feel excited and have a dance party
- Make up a beat just using your body: use your mouth to make sounds, use your hands to tap different parts of your body, and use your feet to stomp, shuffle, and step.
- Create an epic lip-sync performance for a song you love
- Make up some dance moves to go along with a song you like and teach them to someone else.
- Hop in a bathtub or pool and use your arms and hands to play the surface of the water like a giant drum. Make different sounds by slapping the top of the water and dunking your hands deep down.
- Learn a bird song or call from a bird that lives in your neighborhood (like a robin, cardinal, or mourning dove) and try singing or whistling it outside.
- Make a simple homemade instrument. For example, make a guitar using string or rubber bands stretched around a box.
- Listen to a song that makes you feel relaxed.
- Make up your own song! This could be anything from making up a poem and singing it to a tune or making up a tune or rhythm on an instrument. It could be a few seconds long or a few minutes.
- Find a place where sound echoes and try singing a song.
- Try making sounds with different materials around your house: plastic, metal, wood, glass. Be sure to be gentle to protect yourself and the items!
